Ava is our foundation female imported from Ireland. While she was imported from Ireland, her pedigree has strong influence from Great Britain and France as well. Champions in Ava’s pedigree include Shinehill Summer Jazz of Woodmore and Zampanzar Say it Again Shardanell.
The Woodmore breeding program is known for its commitment to producing high-quality Golden Retrievers with excellent conformation, health clearances, and strong pedigrees. Based in the United Kingdom, Woodmore emphasizes breeding dogs with sound temperaments and adherence to breed standards.
Zampanzar is a respected breeding program based in Spain, known for maintaining top-tier Golden Retriever bloodlines. Known for producing champions, Zampanzar prioritizes health testing, show success, and well-rounded dogs suitable for both family and competition environments. We have retained four females from Ava to continue her legacy. All have her great disposition no matter the sire. Ava is clear on the following diseases, similar to Tango:
- JCH ICT (Ichthyosis): A genetic skin disorder causing thick, scaly skin patches resembling fish scales. While not painful, it requires special care to manage and prevent secondary infections.
- HD-A (Hip Dysplasia) and DD-O (Elbow Dysplasia): Developmental joint diseases that can cause pain and mobility issues. Clear status indicates no signs of these conditions, ensuring strong joint health.
- PRA-1 (Progressive Retinal Atrophy): An inherited eye disease leading to gradual vision loss and eventual blindness. Clear status means Ava does not carry this mutation.
- 2 CLEAR (Ichthyosis Type 2): Another form of congenital ichthyosis causing skin scaling and thickening, with clear status indicating Ava is free of this genetic mutation.
